HU User’s Guide

“Tournament started and active” are highlighted in GREEN

ADDED: To find the correct tourney ..scroll down the page and change hunting unlimited 4 (default tourneys) to either HU2 or HU3 or HU08 and click APPLY FILTER.. Then follow the following instructions:

Click on the Name of a tournament to go to that tournament info page Be sure you put the correct game tourney into the correct game tournament folder. If you accidentally put a wrong game tourney into another HU game tournament folder it might not work or cause a crash!!for ex: HU2 tourney into the HU2008 and play it on your HU2008 it probably will just site there or you may get a prism3d crash. Same thing if you try to play another HU2, 3, 4 or HU 2008 in another HU game. When in doubt read the tourney description info in the briefing. Click F5 ..read it then click resume game!!
The tournament page will tell you information about the tournament, including:

• HU2 or HU3 or HU4 or HU2008
• Winning Condition (tournament, longest shot, heaviest animal)
• Animal species
• Number of tags
• Available weapons
• Start and stop times – Do not make the hunting start time at 9 pm that is the in-game maximum limit and no one will be able to play it.

If you wish to participate in a HU2008 tournament: Or any other HU game .. remember which HU game it is ..example:

• Click “Download the tournament mission-file”
• Save it on your computer in the My Documents>Hunting Unlimited 2008>Tournaments folder



****If you wish to participate in a HU2 tournament:

• Click “Download the tournament mission-file”
• Save it on your computer in the My Documents>Hunting Unlimited 2>Tournaments folder

When you open the HU2, HU3, HU4 or HU2008 game:

• Click “Tournaments” in the left menu
• Choose the tournament you downloaded
• Select your weapons & equipment options
• Do the “Hunt”

If you have completed your tournament, and are happy with the result, you can upload your trophies for the world to see right here!
Just follow these steps: **The following instructions are from the Old HU3 site and the New HU site. This will work with the HU2, HU4, and HU08 games too.

• “Start the ‘Hunting Unlimited 3′ game in the normal way”.
• “When the menu appears, select the ‘Tournaments’ option”.
• ” Select the tournament which you have just completed”.
• ” Select ‘Score String’ and wait for a few seconds for a notepad window to pop up”.
• “In the notepad window, select the entire line of text below ‘BEGIN (CUT BELOW)’, then press Ctrl and c simultaneously. This will copy your trophy data to the clipboard”. (DO NOT copy #END, just the scrambled letters)
• Open the Hunting Unlimited – Tournaments web page in your choice of web-browser, and select the ‘Upload Trophies’ link. This should bring you right to a copy of the above instructions http://huntingunlimited.scssoft.com/tournaments/trophy_upload.php
  
• ” Click inside the large text-box below and press Ctrl and v simultaneously. This should paste your trophy data into the text-box”.
• ” Select ‘Submit your Trophies’ and your trophies will be uploaded!”

NOTE: The hunt has to be completed and the score string uploaded prior to the expiration date to count. You may also notice that tournament titles with certain character letters or symbols will make them and your score in the game turn black. Periods, commas, question marks, hyphens, exclamation marks, quotation marks, etc will do this and may also result in your tournament not running or showing up in the tournament folder. Please, refrain from adding extra characters to your tourney title.

Depending on the choice of the tournament creator, you may be taken directly to the tournament results page, and see the existing scores. If not, you will not be able to see the scores until the tournament expires.
