HU User’s Guide

** Under your Main Menu click User Mission, this will take you to the User Mission Main Screen

** Click **User mission editor** it’s listed at the top of the title menu; over in the description box it will give you the general instructions that come with HU2008. On your HU2008 Main Menu you may want to a look at the MAP OVERVIEW; the scenic screen shots of the surroundings you will encounter and general descriptions of the area. It might help before choosing the selected map for the mission.. NOTE: This also works in HU3 and HU4. HU2 has an in game help menu.

** Click NEW to create your own customized user mission. The “Select Area” window has the list of the Maps; in a scroll bar. Type the “Filename” at the bottom. Once you have selected your map and filename, and you satisfied then click OK, you may not return to change these after you select Ok. If you decide at this time to change maps, return to the User Mission Screen and Delete the one called “unnamed”. Click new again and repeat the selection of the map and name the file. If you are satisfied with your selection, click close and continue.

Note: It is highly recommended not to change the filename in your mission folder by trying to rename it. Renamed filenames will appear in black letters and a black zero with the potential of an error in loading properly. Or missions with such things as hyphens or quotes in the title may not load correctly.
** Key Controls-
Try some of the Challenges out to test and see which keys you may possibly like to change before altering the default key settings. Some of you have wondered what the key controls are ..here they are in two places. One under your Options under Key control the other it’s under your C:\Program Files\Hunting Unlimited 2008
look for your readme.txt open it ..scroll down the page.. there’s not only the key controls but some hints and tips in it . You can print that out if you want to the key configuration is also under Options under Control in the game .. You may also wish to change the way your control keys work to suit your preferences.

** The one for Hunting Unlimited 2008 will say “controls” in the c:\my documents\hunting unlimited2008 . It can also be opened in notepad and printed out.

** KEY CONFIGURATION:
You will use your keyboard and your mouse to navigate while hunting.
There is a set of default keys that you may change by going into the
Options Menu from the Main Menu.

Pressing F5 also displays a quick tip and summary mission description
for the mission you are on. IT includes tagged, untagged, penalized animals, their trophy scores, game scores, number of shots taken, and overall hunt score.

There are more controls, and you can customize your controls, in the Game under the Main Menu … Options / Control Settings.

The ESC key acts as a Pause and Exit while you are in a mission. If
you need to step away from the computer and you are in the middle of a
hunt just press the ESC key to pause.
